FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SFJ has been provided with documentation proving that Avrohom Mondrowitz was continually "treating" patients until the time he was arrested by the Israeli police in 2007. (Click here to view.) It is important to note that Mondrowitz is not a psychologist but merely a predator who has forged the degrees he has prominently displayed in his home in Jerusalem. (Click here to see a copy of Mondrowitz's falsified "CV" which was provided to SFJ.) Furthermore, this is the exact method Mondrowitz used in New York to ensnare and rape his "patients," namely, posing as a therapist, gaining the trust of unsuspecting "patients" and assaulting them. Mondrowitz is accused of having molested well over 100 victims in Brooklyn. We believe that the Israeli public has a need to know how dangerous Mondrowitz is and the extent of the threat he poses. We call upon the Israeli government to abide by its absolute obligation to deport Mondrowitz back to the US where he will face a trial for the charges he stands indicted for.

In 1986, leading rabbinic authorities, in both the United States and Israel, issued halachic rulings, denouncing Avrohom Mondrowitz in the most severe and harsh terms possible. Below are copies of their rulings. Click each image to see a full size PDF copy of the ruling.

AS REPORTED IN THE JEWISH WEEK:
Moshe Rosenbaum, one of the original activists who brought Mondrowitz’s activities to light and has had personal contact with over 50 alleged victims of Mondrowitz, many of whom knew of other victims, told the Jewish Week that he believes the Israelis should be very concerned if Mondrowitz goes free.
"I estimate that there were over three hundred victims of Mondrowitz as of 1985. In my history of dealing with pedophiles in the Jewish community, nobody has ever come close to the level of the vile abusive behavior of Mondrowitz. He has a disease that doesn’t go away. It ruins lives forever. And the lack of response from the public empowers people like him which only makes them more dangerous.“
“Mondrowitz’s ability to charm his way into the presence of children is not to be taken lightly,” Rosenbaum continued. “It’s important that the Israeli public understand the extent of the danger Mondrowitz poses.”
[Jan. 14, 2010] Israeli Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Avrohom Mondrowitz's Appeal. Mondrowitz Will Not Be Extradited to the United States at This Time.
The Supreme Court's decision can be read here (in Hebrew).
The Decision of the Israeli Supreme Court was written by Justice Ayala Procaccia. In part, Justice Procaccia took the view that Mondrowitz should not be extradited as a matter of public policy since the length of time that has passed since the commission of the crimes would not make a fair trial possible.
Justices Rubenstein and Naot disagreed with Justice Procaccia's opinion on this point. Both Justices were unhappy that the US had not asked for the trial to take place in Israel.
Justice Rubenstein added in his decision that the decision of the court while correct in his eyes should not be seen as any form of acquittal or statement as to the decency of Avrohom Mondrowitz.
All three justices ruled that Mondrowitz should not be extradited to the US to face trial for the crimes he is charged with.
